My name is Kreed Averhoff, and I am a first-year student at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy. I was born and raised in Stephenville, Texas, where I was inspired to pursue pharmacy by watching both of my parents serve patients in a retail setting. Since beginning my own journey, I have gained experience as a technician at Walgreens and now as a pharmacy intern at H-E-B. At TTUHSC, I serve as Vice President of my class in Student Council and as Brotherhood Chair for Phi Delta Chi, where I have learned the importance of leadership and teamwork. I am also involved in volunteer work in the community such as Meals on Wheels, Medication Clean Out, and Operation Christmas.  My goal is to practice in a rural community pharmacy, where I believe pharmacists can have the greatest impact through direct patient care and strong relationships. I am passionate about giving back to the community and using my pharmacy education to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
To me, WTPA represents more than just an organization; it is a community of pharmacists and students united by a passion for advancing patient care across Texas. Being a part of WTPA has encouraged me to grow as both a student and future pharmacist by reminding me of the responsibility we have to serve our patients with compassion, integrity, and professionalism. Through this involvement, I have also gained valuable connections and mentorship that will continue to shape my journey as I work toward becoming a pharmacist who makes a meaningful impact in rural communities.
